Top 10 for Dad

Happy Father's Day to the best father ever!

Top 10 list:

"Why we love our dad..."

10. Because he is willing to stay up late at night and wait for the teenagers to come home.
9. He works really hard at fixing things!
8. Because he is very thrifty and always turns off the lights and the TV and the computer to save energy and money.
7. He barbecues a mean steak and tender chicken.
6. He travels all over (without a complaint) to support his children with their cheer performances, their dance performances, their soccer games, their baseball games, their basketball games, their theatrical performances and their choir concerts.
5. He is a spider serial killer and a master mouse catcher.
4. He listens.
3. Because he likes to laugh.
2. He is grouchy only some of the time.
1. Because he would make any necessary sacrifice for his family!

THANKS DAD!

Big Muscles...

My front porch Monday afternoon! This was after our evening of excitment and flooding!

"For thou shalt devote all thy service in Zion; and in this thou shalt have strength."
D&C 24:7

Our family is getting "big muscles," according to Bowen! Sunday evening into early Monday morning was spent filling sandbags and then in a long line, of about 400 volunteers, placing them all over nearby neighborhoods. Many of our friends and neighbors' houses and yards have been suffering from the heavy snow in the mountains and cool temperatures through the spring. Cool temperatures that is, until this week. This week has been mighty hot and as a result, the run off from the mountains is great and quick and the water levels are high. Therefore, many yards and homes have been flooded. It was a great experience for us to serve our fellow friends and give back to them only a portion of what they have given to us. Bowen commented during the experience that we are getting big muscles! I hope our family muscles continue to get bigger and bigger!
