Dreams & Homecoming Queens

I would like to share a part of a journal entry I made eleven years ago...

January 1999
Family Home Evening
Thomas Family Home, Pleasant Grove UT

Lesson given by mom about goals and resolutions, how to make and accomplish goals and why they are important in our lives.

Mom: Now that we have discussed goals, I would like each of you to think of some goals you would like to make. We will write them down and then decide what you can do to accomplish those personal goals.

Courtney: I want to play soccer for the USA Women's Soccer Team. I want to score two goals during that game. I also want to be a teacher and help children learn and become better people.

She then continued on with a whole list of short range goals that would help her achieve those two long range goals. She was being so analytical and serious about the whole thing.

Hannah: I want to be a princess and a mom.

She was just under two years old and very excited about the "princess" goal.

Caitlin: I just want to be a Homecoming Queen and wear a pretty dress!

Oh, my little Caitlin! She was so much fun!

Happy Number 9!

My little man has turned 9! It was a great birthday. There were lots of presents, a football themed party with 13 of his favorite friends, pizza, treats, balloons and cake. He is full of life, full of energy, his face is full of freckles, he's full of intelligence, full of questions, full of laughter, full of fun, and full of determination. 9 years old is looking good.

Happy Birthday Bowen.....WE LOVE YOU!

Happy Birthday Courtney

I can't believe that this adorable, little girl

Is already 20 years old

Happy Birthday Beautiful, big Girl!

20 years old, how did this happen? It seems like just yesterday you were in the kitchen, running around my feet and saving the world. All with a big, pink bow in your uncombed hair and wearing your Batman cape. Oh how I love having you as my daughter!
